Man broke into Cobb County home while exposing himself, and he’s been accused of it before

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A man has been accused of following a Cobb County woman into her home, forcing his way inside and exposing himself to her.

Allen McCrone followed a woman into the Spectator Apartments building near Truist Park before forcing his way into her apartment with the lower half of his body exposed, according to the indictment.

Channel 2′s Michele Newell has learned that this isn’t the first time he’s been accused of something similar.

Police say he was spotted on surveillance cameras following a woman he doesn’t know in downtown Orlando, Florida in 2022. He was later pictured shirtless in the victim’s apartment.

McCrone is currently awaiting trial on charges of attempted sexual battery and burglary from that Florida case.

Newell spoke to neighbors who say you have to be aware of your surroundings at all times.

“Uncomfortable, uneasy, violated for everybody,” Danyelle Rutherford said. “[I’m] constantly checking because you never know who’s out there, who’s around you. You never know what anybody’s motive is.”

McCrone’s criminal history doesn’t stop in Georgia and Florida.

In 2017, he was charged and later convicted of burglary in Ohio.

“You should be safe when you’re walking around anywhere,” Rutherford said.

He is currently being held in the Cobb County Jail without bond.
