MARIETTA, Ga. — The Marietta Police Department said a man is now in custody for a deadly shooting at a car wash the night before New Year’s Eve.
Channel 2 Action News reported at the beginning of the year when Marietta police said a 59-year-old man was found dead in the middle of a Marietta car wash.
Police said they found Daniel Lanard Richardson Jr. on the ground, not moving, in a car wash bay on Bellemeade Drive around 8 p.m. on Dec. 30.

Officers said he was shot and was pronounced dead at the scene after first responders worked to save his life.
Detectives said they used a combination of witness statements and technology to identify 70-year-old Robert Baker as the murder suspect.
“We can confirm the suspect and victim were acquaintances, but the extent of their relationship is still unknown,” police said.
Baker is being held without bond at the Cobb County Jail. He faces charges of felony murder, felony aggravated assault and felony possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Police have not said what the motive was behind the killing.
