COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Smyrna police have shut down a busy road as they search for a man who tried to hold up a business on Thursday.
It started around 9:28 a.m. in the 2600 block of Spring Road. Police have shut down the area around the business and the QuikTrip gas station.

Smyrna police said officers responded to the area and found the suspect at the business. At some point, one of the officers fired their gun. No one was injured. The man ran from the scene.
Police have asked for the public to avoid the area while they continue their search.
“If you observe anything suspicious in the area please call 911.”
Cobb SWAT is also assisting with the search. Cobb County Police Department said their SWAT team was already in the area for a training exercise when they were called.
