COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A new sports bar chain co-owned by a former Atlanta sports rival will open a new location at the Battery Atlanta.
Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux will replace Mac McGee’s Irish Pub inside the food and entertainment district outside the Braves’ Truist Park. The restaurant chain is partly owned by Super Bowl winner and former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

“Walk-On’s shares our vision of providing exceptional experiences to our guests,” said Mike Plant, President & CEO of Braves Development Company. “Its dedication to serving top-quality dishes, delivering outstanding service and fostering an inviting, family-friendly atmosphere makes Walk-On’s the perfect addition to The Battery Atlanta’s robust restaurant lineup.”
Walk-On currently operates one other location in Marietta. The restaurant chain says the Battery location though will be a “non-traditional” setup and about 1/3 the size of the other locations.
It will still feature dozens of TVs for sports to be entertained, even on days when the Braves aren’t playing, and a walk-up bar for customers.
It’s not the only restaurant opening at the Battery Atlanta this year. Shake Shack will replace the former Wahlburgers this spring.
