COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Firefighters pulled an SUV out of a Marietta townhome Wednesday after the driver crashed into it.
Paramedics took the driver and passenger to the hospital.
Channel 2 Cobb County Bureau Chief Michele Newell was the only reporter at the scene on Lemon Street and spoke to the woman who was inside the townhome when this happened.

She only made it out alive because she was in the upper level of this townhouse when she heard and felt the vehicle crash right into the home office on the lower level.
Two witnesses said they saw the driver lose control after he turned onto Cole Street.
“It sounded like an explosion; it was really loud,” said Addison Blumenthal, a neighbor.
When Blumenthal walked out her front door Wednesday afternoon, she saw the SUV.
“It barreled right through the front door,” she said.
NewsChopper 2 captured the chaotic scene unfolding.
“I did see a woman jump out of the car,” Blumenthal said. “She looked quite frantic.”
“We have a driver that lost control,” said Marietta Police PIO Chuck McPhilamy. “You can see the dealer plates on it. This is a vehicle they weren’t accustomed to.”
The woman in the townhome was too shaken up to go on camera but told Newell she is thankful to be alive.
The driver and passenger were taken to the hospital to get checked out, and it was reported they will be OK.
Fire crews installed support beams before they pulled the SUV out around 3 p.m. The fire marshal is working with an engineer to determine how badly it was damaged.
“We are concerned about structural damage, and we want to make sure it’s safe before we allow anyone to return back inside,” McPhilamy said.
