On Thursday, the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office sworn in a special recruit, Norma Haynes.

The sheriff’s office presented Haynes with a honorary badge and certificate at their annual Public Safety Appreciation Luncheon.

Haynes is the proud “Mother of Public Safety” to all who serve in Coweta County, the department said.

According to officials, Haynes is the ‘driving force’ behind the Newnan Coweta Public Safety Foundation. The foundation helps take care of Coweta’s Public Safety personnel.

She was also recently named Coweta County’s 2022 Citizen of the Year.

The sheriff’s office said they are extremely thankful for Haynes and all who work with her. “We are blessed,” the department said.
