ATLANTA — Technicians are still trying to figure out why the Atlanta E-911 system crashed on Monday night.
Officials said Tuesday afternoon that technicians “are on site continuing to evaluate the situation and determine the root cause” of Monday’s issues.
The system remains fully operational after coming back online Tuesday morning.
For several hours, operators could not receive or dispatch emergency calls through their computer system. Operators had to reroute calls to Fulton County until the technical issues were fixed.

“Even though we did experience issues with our 911 system ... if you call 911, someone will answer and we will dispatch medical, police and fire resources to you,” 911 Executive Director Desiree Arnold said.
Officials say the system was not hacked.
