FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. — A beloved K9 deputy has retired after many years of service with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
Copper is a Bloodhound who joined the sheriff’s office in November 2015 when she was just 12 weeks old.

Her first assignment was tracking and locating a wanted felon when she was only seven months old.
Over her career, she responded to more than 150 calls for service, assisting in cases from homicides to armed robberies.
She also saved lives by finding and safely bringing home people who had gone missing.
She will continue to live with her handler, Lieutenant Thamert, in her retirement.
