The parents of a man shot and killed nearly four years ago says it is taking forever for the case to get to trial.

Connor Mediate’s family says their lives have been on hold, waiting for the case to get to trial.
“We’re just sitting, waiting. You can’t move on. You’re kind of in a ... you’re stuck,” Connor’s mother, Tara Mediate, told Channel 2′s Tom Jones.
The Mediates say they’ve been stuck waiting for Fulton County Superior Court to set a trial date in their son’s shooting death.
“I don’t want another parent to have to go through this,” said Joe Mediate, Connor’s father.
Alpharetta police say Milton High students Cameron Walker and Jonathan Murray shot and killed Connor Mediate. They say the former basketball standouts shot him after he agreed to sell them marijuana.
The Mediates want to get to trial so they can put the court case behind them.
“We relive Connor’s murder over and over,” Tara Mediate said.
Channel 2s Tom Jones found a court document that shows the case was placed on a judicial hold in September. The document indicated Murray wants a separate trial from Walker, and it asked the court to continue Walker’s case until after Murray has been tried.
The document also says Murray’s attorney had been involved in the YSL racketeering trial and has been unavailable.
Joe Mediate thinks it’s all a delay tactic.
“The longer the trial gets away from when it happened, evidence seems to get lost. And memories seem to be faded,” he said.
The judicial hold was lifted in October.

Tara Mediate says it is so important for her family to get this case to trial as soon as possible.
“They need to be held responsible,” she said. “They took a life. And I want to hear they’re guilty.”
Court documents indicate the case is on next week’s trial calendar. The Mediates say they were told that doesn’t mean the case will be tried then.
The family is also not happy one of the defendants is out of bond. They say he only had to pay 10%, which means he paid about $18,000 to get out.
They say that disrespects victims. They plan to work to prevent anyone facing felony murder from being eligible for bond.
