FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia Court of Appeals affirmed that charges dropped against President-elect Donald J. Trump in the Fulton County indictment against will remain out of play.

In March, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee dropped six charges from the overall Racketeering Influence and Corrupt Organizations indictment due to what he ruled were “vague” details to justify the charges.

All of the dismissed counts were related to charges of Solicitation of Violation of Oath by Public Office and were levied against the President-elect, Rudy Giuliani, lawyer John Eastman, former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and attorneys Ray Smith and Bob Cheely.

Three of the counts directly name President-elect Trump regarding his phone call with Georgia Sec. of State Brad Raffensperger and his request that he find him more votes in the 2020 election.

On Oct. 15, 2024, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis appealed the dismissal on grounds that her indictment had “included an abundance of context and factual allegations about the solicitations at issue, including when the requests were made, to whom the requests were made, and the manner in which the requests were made.”

Now, the Court of Appeals has affirmed the removals, meaning charges from counts 2, 5, 6, 23, 28 and 38 will stay quashed, and no longer impact the case.
