CRISP COUNTY, Ga. — A 27-year-old man was arrested after deputies found a dog in need of medical care.

On Jan. 6, Crisp County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control was contacted about a report of animal cruelty at a home on Avenue West.
Crisp County Ofc. Vogel met with the owner, Jesse Blanks, 27, and found the dog, Diamond.
The sheriff’s office said Diamond appeared malnourished, underweight, and in need of medical care.

Diamond was taken to the Cordele Animal Shelter. On Jan. 12, Best Friends Humane Society picked up Diamond to take her to Thomasville Humane Society for rescue.
Officials issued an arrest warrant for Blanks. He was arrested and charged with two counts of cruelty to animals.
