Gwinnett County police responded to the restaurant at 4915 Sugarloaf Parkway, where they said an argument turned deadly just before noon.
When they arrived, they found the suspect still nearby, said Cpl. Ryan Winderweedle with Gwinnett police. The victim was transported to a hospital where he later died.
The suspect cooperated with police and was taken to Gwinnett County Jail.
Police said the shooter and the victim were arguing over something about their employment, which was not related to the McDonald’s location.
Investigators called it an isolated incident and believe no one else was involved.
