GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — The murder trial against three men accused of killing a Gwinnett County father and football coach could go to the jury on Monday.
On Friday, the state rested its case against Josiah Hughley, David Booker and Miles Collins, who are charged in Bradley Coleman’s murder.
The defense started arguing its case on Friday and could wrap up on Monday before the trial is handed over to the jury. This is the second time that Hughley, Booker and Collins have gone before the jury. Their first trial in 2023 ended in a mistrial due to technical legal issues.
Channel 2′s Matt Johnson has been following the trial at the courthouse. He’ll have the latest on Channel 2 Action News at Noon and Channel 2 Action News starting at 4:00 p.m.

Police say Coleman, 29, was putting air in his tires when the trio tried to carjack him at the QuikTrip gas station on Peachtree Parkway and Peachtree Corners Circle in Peachtree Corners.
Prosecutors charged Hughley for shooting Coleman in the head during a struggle and charged Booker and Collins for allegedly assisting in the attempted theft and getaway.
Hughley admitted to shooting Coleman, claiming it was an act of self-defense.
“I was like, he’s going to grab his gun, he’s going to shoot me,” Hughley said. “Even though I told him [I was going to leave], I know what he’s gonna do, he’s gonna shoot me.”
“I didn’t mean to do it, I was panicking,” Hughley told detectives.
Prosecutors contend that the shooting happened during an alleged felony, which led to the murder charges.
