Overnight SWAT standoff ends without Gwinnett police finding suspect

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — For hours on Thursday night and Friday morning, Gwinnett County officers, deputies and SWAT surrounded a house, but didn’t find who they were looking for.

Channel 2′s Darryn Moore was outside the home on Imperial Drive off Centerville Highway during Channel 2 Action News This Morning.

There were reports that someone fired shots at officers or deputies, but investigators have not confirmed if that was the case.

The SWAT team surrounded the home searching for someone they believed was inside.

A robot and officers with weapons drawn and bulletproof shields went into the home overnight.

But Moore learned the person they were looking for was not inside.
