Their family says the winery started as a dream when they met in college 15 years ago and they have worked since then to make it a reality. And for the last eight years, the winery has been their only source of income.
“Matthew and Lindsey started selling gourmet caramel apples, jams and jellies at the local Farmer’s Market, giving Sweet Acre Farms its namesake. Growing berries and raising bees, it was everything ‘sweet’ as the dream continued to grow and blossom,” they wrote.

In addition to losing the building, they lost all of their inventory as well as family paintings and heirlooms.
Over the last few days, the community has raised more than $17,000 for the Vrahiotes family.
Fire officials have not released the cause of the fire.
