A heat advisory will once again be in place for almost all of Georgia except the northeast Georgia mountain counties on Monday.
The advisory will go from noon until 8 p.m. for dangerous heat index up to 109 degrees.
The Clayton County School District says it will once again cancel all outdoor-related activities during school hours. That includes physical education, recess and other outdoor activities.
There is also an extreme heat warning for Randolph and Cleburne counties in Alabama, which are in the Channel 2 Action News viewing area. The extreme heat warning is for dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 113.
There is also the risk for severe storms. Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz says scattered storms ahead of a front will move into Georgia late afternoon-evening. Some of the stronger storms may knock down trees or limbs.
As for the heat, you will want to drink plenty of fluids, limit your outdoor activities, and wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothes. Make sure to check on your relatives, neighbors and pets.
