ELBERT COUNTY, Ga. — An investigation is ongoing after human remains were discovered this past weekend.

On Sunday, Elbert County deputies were investigating the discovery of possible human remains.
The sheriff’s office along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation confimed they found human remains in a wooded area.
Authorites did not released specific details on exactly where the remains were found.

The remains were sent by the coroner’s office to the medical examiner’s office for positive identification.
