GORDON COUNTY, Ga. — A multi-agency manhunt for a Gordon County murder suspect ended with a shooting, according to authorities.

On Wednesday, Gordon County detectives began searching for 46-year-old Christopher Lee Dixon in connection with a murder and arson from last night.
Around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, investigators say they were called to a home on James Street in Gordon County for a person shot.
When they arrived, the home was on fire. Firefighters spent the next several hours battling the house fire. After the home burned to the ground, deputies found a body inside. That person’s identity has not yet been released.

Wednesday afternoon, Gordon County deputies, Georgia State Patrol and Whitfield County deputies began searching for Dixon.
Officials said Dixon was shot by law enforcement after he was found hiding underneath a mobile home.
He was taken to the hospital for medical treatment but is expected to survive.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called to the scene, as per protocol with an officer-involved shooting.
