COVINGTON, Ga. — Police in Covington are searching for a suspect they said fired several shots into an apartment building.

It happened on Saturday at 6:42 p.m. at the Magnolia Heights apartments off Jackson Highway in Covington.
According to police, the man went to the back of the apartment building, walked to building 500 and fired seven times into an apartment before running away.
The suspect is described as a heavy-set man wearing a black hoodie, grey sweatpants and a black mask.

Police believe the suspect was holding a gun as he left the building. CPD did not say if anyone was injured.
