Jefferson police asked the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office to assist in the investigation.
Agents said the suspected cause of the fire was that Blei had an accident while manufacturing methamphetamine.
After he was treated for his burns, Blei voluntarily turned himself in to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
He is charged with felony counts of manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and three misdemeanor counts of reckless conduct.
