Ga. daycare owner arrested for the second time in 2 weeks on 17 child abuse charges

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — A Paulding County daycare owner is facing 17 new charges after being arrested for the second time in two weeks.

Goldia Marie Lipsky, 63, was originally arrested on Jan. 25. She owns the Reach For The Sky Academy home day care off Mill Creek Lane in Hiram.

She was initially accused of assaulting at least five children, between eight months and three years old, who were in her care. Lipsky was charged with one count of aggravated assault, two counts of cruelty to children in the first degree and five counts of cruelty to children in the third degree.

Lipsky bonded out jail on those charges just a few days later.

Detectives were later able to get surveillance footage from Lipsky’s camera system. On the video, detectives say they saw several acts of abuse against multiple children over the course of a week.

They have not commented on what was shown on the video.

From what they found on that video, detectives were able to arrest Lipsky again and charge her with 17 counts of cruelty to children on Wednesday.

Investigators are trying to get their hands on more video footage to see if there are more victims.

Lipsky is currently being held in the Paulding County Jail without bond.

Deputies expect that more charges could be released.
