PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — A local grade school teacher figured out how to take a small technology grant and multiply its benefits across school districts.
He created a program called “Eduscize,” which combines movement and learning.
Channel 2′s Lori Wilson was in Paulding County this week to talk with teacher Sean Splawski who has a passion for making school fun.
Splawski, the designer of the program, created it to help students burn and learn, or get healthier and smarter at the same time.
“It’s loud, it’s kind of in your face., but it’s fun it engages kids,” Splawski said.

Sean started developing Eduscize in 2017 when he got a grant to buy wearable heart monitors.
Kids put them on while participating in Eduscize.
It shows how strong they’re getting.
Splawski based his program on a kinesthetic learning model that connects learning with physical activity he saw it as a way to keep kids interested in learning, and to address a growing obesity epidemic among young people and it’s working.
They love it, it keeps them busy, it keeps them moving around all day long and they are learning when they don’t even know they’re learning.
Creativity, collaboration, communication, all those real-life skills you need in the 21st century, it encompasses all of those.

Right now, Splawski ships the games himself, selling to teachers, afterschool programs, or even whole school districts.
“I didn’t become a teacher to be bored...I became a teacher to make school fun,” Splawski said.
Splawski said research shows kinesthetic learning works and that he’s getting the feedback that scores are improving for students using Eduscize.
His program is now in nine school districts and four states.
