Rape suspect turns himself in after Midtown Atlanta attack

ATLANTA — A man suspected of attacking a woman in midtown Atlanta and sexually assaulting her is under arrest.

Channel 2 Action News has learned Eric Key turned himself in to police overnight Tuesday.

On Sunday, the victim told police she was getting into her car for volunteer work when the suspect reportedly snatched her and dragged her into a vacant apartment and raped her.

Atlanta police released very clear video and pictures of the suspect leaving the complex. He’s seen walking away from an apartment on Juniper Street in midtown after the rape happened.

Officials think the suspect cased out the complex beforehand and found an unlocked apartment that was under construction.
