Refillable medicine bottles sold on Amazon recalled due to faulty lids

Cabinet Health refillable medicine bottles

WASHINGTON D.C. — A line of 4 oz. refillable medicine bottles has been recalled because the plastic lid’s closure can degrade, posing a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children.

The recall is for certain Cabinet Health 4 oz. refillable medicine bottles with ABS plastic lids.

The six different varieties of bottles are made from clear glass with blue, turquoise, orange, or purple plastic lids labeled “CABINET.”

They were sold filled with either over-the-counter drugs or as empty 4 oz. bottles.

They were sold through cabinethealth.com, Grove.co, CVS stores, and Amazon.com from March 2023 through July 2024.

You can identify recalled empty bottles by the date of purchase.

Recalled bottles sold with over-the-counter drugs have date codes on a sticker on the bottom of the bottle.

You can view those codes here.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission says that consumers should immediately secure the recalled bottles out of the sight and reach of children and contact Cabinet Health for a free replacement lid.

You will be asked to send a photo demonstrating that the lid has been destroyed.

Both Cabinet Health and Amazon are contacting all purchasers directly.

The recall does not affect the medication inside the bottles.
