DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police are investigating a deadly shooting Friday in a neighborhood in the Stone Mountain area.
DeKalb County Police are at the scene on Redan Trail. Police confirmed to Channel 2’s Richard Elliot that one man is dead.
Police confirmed to Elliot officers found Shaquille Smalls, 32, dead from several gunshot wounds near a creek around noon.
The suspect, Deshawn Brown, 26, was taken into custody at the scene. He’s at the DeKalb County Jail and charged with murder.
Family and neighbors said he was shot to death over some type of argument.
Witnesses said they saw the man lying dead in the front yard of a home for hours.
Neighbors said the shooting happened around 11 a.m., and they it sounded like around 10 shots were fired.
