ATLANTA — The showers and storms that moved across the metro early Monday evening will fall apart and move out late into the evening, but more rain is expected for most of the week.
A cold front will move across the metro overnight and into Tuesday morning, pushing the rain out of the metro.
“Tomorrow, through the day, we will have some drier air to the north with a little more sunshine and rain chances pretty slim over far north Georgia,” said Severe Weather Team 2’s Brad Nitz.
But areas south of Interstate 20 will see more storms start to develop that will move north throughout the afternoon.
“We’ll see another round of storms for the heart and the peak of the afternoon commute,” Nitz said.
It will continue into the evening hours.
Severe Weather Team 2 is tracking a system currently in the Gulf of Mexico that is being forecast to turn into a possible tropical depression or tropical storm.
The predicted track of the storm will likely bring the metro more rain later in the week.
