LEE COUNTY, Ga. — Deputies in southwest Georgia are asking drivers to remain calm after a suspect was arrested following a road rage incident.

Just before 2 p.m., on Jan. 30, Lee County deputies were called to a road rage incident that occurred in the 700 block of US 19 south.
Leesburg police said they found the suspect’s car in the 200 block of US 19 north and identified the suspect as William Jackson Hood.

According to deputies, Hood, intentionally rammed the victim’s car, with his silver Toyota Scion. Lee County authorities said Hood caused extensive damage to the back of the victim’s vehicle.
Hood was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office asks citizens to remain calm and exercise patience while driving.
“We encourage drivers to practice defensive driving techniques and to avoid engaging with aggressive drivers. If you encounter a situation that escalates, it is best to disengage and contact law enforcement,” the sheriff’s office said.
