18-year-old charged with murder in quadruple killing at northwest Georgia park

WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. — An 18-year-old has been charged with murder several months after four people were killed in a northwest Georgia park.

Andres Jared Guzman, of Rome, was arrested Tuesday night in the August 2024 shooting in Pleasant Grove Park near Dalton, the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office said.

The victims were identified as

  • Joshua Pedro Pelico-Pelico, 19, of Dalton
  • David Antonio Delgadillo, 21, of Dalton
  • Daniel Segura-Cruz, 17, of Rome
  • Robert Valencia, 18, of Rome

According to the sheriff’s office, some individuals drove from Rome to meet with Delgadillo and Pelico at the park for drugs.

They believe the two groups exchanged gunfire with one another.

Soon after the shooting, a 16-year-old, whose identity has not been released, was arrested and charged.

Guzman is charged with murder and is being held at the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
