ATLANTA — Atlanta Hawks Trae Young has come up with a new word that’s very familiar to his lack of being named an NBA All-Star.

“It’s no longer getting “snubbed” it’s getting “Traed” at this point,” Young posted on X.

Yes, the NBA All-Star rosters were announced on Thursday night and Young was not on them.

Young is averaging 22.7 points per game this season, including a league-leading 11.4 assists per game.

According to Hawks PR, Young has “tallied 500+ assists in each of his first seven seasons, becoming the fifth player in NBA history to do so: Oscar Robertson, Isiah Thomas, Norm Nixon, Tim Hardaway, Trae Young.”

Inside the NBA, which broadcasts from Atlanta, announced the reserves for the 2025 NBA All-Star game.

While Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith advocated for Young and believed he should be in the game, Charles Barkley said he was fine with the guys who made the team over Young.

“He is shooting a career low 40 percent and is leading the league in turnovers,” Barkley said. “That matters. I have no problems with the guys they picked.”

“Trae Young is one of the 24 best players in the NBA,” Shaq said.

Eastern Conference All-Star reserves include Darius Garland, Tyler Herro, Jaylen Brown, Anthony Edwards, Dame Lillard, Cade Cunningham, Pascal Siakam and Evan Mobley.
