ATLANTA — In the middle of arguably his most productive season as a pro, Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young will be heading to the NBA All-Star game. On Monday morning, the league announced that Young will replace Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo who has been injured.

Young currently leads the league in assists with just over 11 per game. He’s also averaging 23.5 points, 3.2 rebounds along with 1.2 steals in a season that has seen him score a little less, but set up his teammates much more.
It’s the fourth time Young will be playing with the All-Stars and that makes him the 10th Hawk in the history of the franchise to achieve that mark.

It’s been an up-and-down season for the Hawks who hold a 25-28 record as of Feb. 10. The team made three highly-publicized trades on the NBA’s Trade Deadline day which reshaped the roster.
The retooled Hawks have won their past two games and are currently ninth in the NBA East. That position would get them into the league’s “Play-In” tournament for the right to compete for an NBA Championship. Atlanta plays the Orlando Magic on Monday night in Orlando. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
