ATLANTA — Severe Weather Team 2 is tracking the threat for flooding across parts of north Georgia this week.
Meteorologist Brian Monahan says today will start off with scattered showers before more widespread rain moves in this afternoon. Another round of heavy rain moves in Wednesday.

A flood watch has been issued for the following counties through Thursday morning: Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Cherokee, Cobb, Dade, Dawson, Fannin, Floyd, Forsyth, Fulton, Gilmer, Gordon, Hall, Haralson, Lumpkin, Murray, Paulding, Pickens, Polk, Towns, Union, Walker, Whitfield and White counties.

- Much cooler today with highs in the low 50s
- Steady rain moves into northwest GA late this afternoon with widespread rain, some heavy, overnight area-wide
- Rain tapers to scattered showers tomorrow
- Another round of heavy rain moves in later tomorrow afternoon and evening
- A chance for an isolated strong thunderstorm later tomorrow over west Georgia
- Rain will clear out Thursday morning with drier weather for the end of the week
