Grab an umbrella! We might see as much rain as a typical February in the next few days

ATLANTA — Put on your raincoat and grab an umbrella because we’re in for a wet rest of the week, according to Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan.

He says over the next few days we’ll likely see almost as much rainfall as a typical February.

The average rainfall for February, one of the wettest months in metro Atlanta, is 4.55 inches. Monahan is forecasting at least four inches of rain by Sunday.

Over the next few days, the heaviest rain will fall over the north Georgia mountains where five inches or more of rain is possible.

Parts of north Georgia are also under a Flood Watch until Thursday morning.
