ATLANTA — Enjoy the mostly dry rest of your Saturday because the rain and chance for storms return on Sunday and Monday.
Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Eboni Deon says the humidity will be more noticeable as we go through Saturday with isolated showers.
Deon says Sunday morning will be wet as scattered rain and storms move in.
The risk for isolated severe storms is Sunday afternoon. The main threat will be damaging wind gusts. A brief tornado is possible, although the risk is low.
Monday morning scattered storms move in ahead of a cold front that has a better chance of becoming severe.
Damaging wind gusts will be the main threat. There will be a low risk for hail and brief tornadoes with these storms. The severe weather risk will diminish as the front passes south of North Georgia on Monday afternoon.
What to know for the weekend:
- Cloudy and breezy with isolated light showers this evening
- Sunday morning will be wet as scattered rain and storms move in
- Late Sunday night into early Monday morning a cold front arrives with the chance for strong and severe storms
- Damaging wind gusts, hail and brief tornadoes possible
Isolated strong storms are possible Sunday but there's a better chance of severe storms beginning Monday morning. The main threat is damaging wind, but hail and a tornado is possible. I'll be tracking the storms live on Channel 2. WSB Weather app: https://t.co/na8dmXjTCK pic.twitter.com/orLuf6U4WO
