ATLANTA — A flash flood warning was issued for Fulton County at 9:23 p.m. It’s in effect until 10:45 p.m.
The area under the warning is in central Fulton, according to the National Weather Service.
We’re also getting reports of flooding across Atlanta.
Doppler radar-indicated thunderstorms are producing heavy rain across the warned area.
Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen, and additional rain is expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
According to the National Weather Service, impacted areas that will experience flash flooding include Atlanta, City of South Fulton, East Point, Midtown, Grant Park-Zoo Atlanta, West End, Bankhead, Cascade Heights, Atlantic Station, Turner Field, Sweet Auburn, Bolton, Piedmont Park, Lakewood Park, Virginia Highland and Little Five Points.
Scattered showers and storms will continue to develop into Wednesday evening, ending overnight into Thursday morning.

Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz is tracking more afternoon and evening storms for the next several days on WSB Tonight at 11 p.m.
Nitz says it will dry up by morning with partly cloudy skies, afternoon highs will climb back into the low 90s, but some areas will feel like 100 degrees.
Nitz said there will be periods of heavy rain.

Temperatures will be less hot as the week continues, but the coverage of showers and storms will increase. Scattered storms are expected daily through Sunday.
For Wednesday, a strong or severe storm is possible for our far eastern counties. Any strong storms that develop will have damaging wind gusts and heavy rain.
