ATLANTA — Stay weather aware Friday with the potential for more strong to severe storms.
Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz is tracking a line of storms moving through north Georgia.
A ground stop has been issued at the Atlanta airport until 2:30 p.m.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for the following counties in the Channel 2 viewing area:
Banks, Barrow, Butts, Carroll, Clarke, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Greene, Gwinnett, Habersham, Hall, Heard, Henry, Jackson, Jasper, Lamar, Madison, Meriwether, Morgan, Newton, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Paulding, Pike, Putnam, Rockdale, Spalding, Troup, Upson and Walton counties.

Damaging wind gusts are the main risks with today’s storms along with possible hail.
But as with the storms earlier this week, Kramlich says we cannot rule out the potential for a few brief, spin-up tornadoes.
