Strong storms make their way through metro Atlanta, bring down trees

ATLANTA — Strong storms are currently making their way through metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of Jasper, Butts and Putnam counties that expired at 1 p.m.

Channel 2 Action News has received reports of trees coming down across metro Atlanta.

Photos shared from Channel 2 Action News viewers in the Dacula area show a tree coming down and blocking a round near a Bank of America on Braselton Hwy.

We’ve also received reports of a tree falling on a car on I-985 in Hall County, as well as trees falling in Cherokee, Walton and Polk counties.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Eboni Deon said after storms move through metro Atlanta, Saturday afternoon and evening could see scattered showers and storms.
