Widespread rain, chance of thunderstorms as cold front moves through today

Rain chances Friday

ATLANTA — Make sure you grab an umbrella before you head out the door on Friday.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan is tracking a cold front that will bring widespread rain and thunderstorms.

We’re taking you through the timing in your neighborhood, LIVE on Channel 2 Action News.

Monahan says the risk for severe weather will stay well to our south in southwest Georgia. In north Georgia, the rain will be heavy at times and you may hear a few rumbles of thunder.

Monahan says the rain impact is low for the morning drive, but the heavy rain will pick up in the late morning hours and last through the evening.
