DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — At least one person was killed in a major wreck on Interstate 85, in DeKalb County on Monday morning.

The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. on I-85 in the northbound lanes near Chamblee Tucker Road.
According to DeKalb County officials, a driver was involved in a single-vehicle crash, leaving the vehicle damaged in the right lanes on the interstate.
Authorities said the driver got out of the vehicle but stayed on the road with their car. A Good Samaritan stopped in the road to help.
A third vehicle then hit the damaged vehicle and hit both drivers, officials said.

At that time, a fourth vehicle drove up and also crashed. The first driver died from their injuries and the Good Samaritan was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
The crash remains under investigation. The drivers’ ages and identities were not released.
