Witnesses told Channel 2’s Cory James that the shooting may have sprung from a fight over a girl.

That girl’s mother told James that it was her daughter’s boyfriend who was shot.

“It was like boom, boom, boom. It was a big gun, not for this area, but we have shots being fired off all the time. So, this was a handgun, and it has some power behind it. It was someone that knew what they were doing when they had it,” witness Kendrick Alberty said.

The two other victims in this case were said to have moderate injuries and were in stable condition at last check, police said.

Investigators said several businesses and cars in the parking lot were also hit with the gunfire.
