Green, known professionally as D’Maestro, says he was on the phone with his sister when he heard gunshot after gunshot from his home near River Road Sunday night.

“I immediately rolled off the bed and hit the floor,” he told Channel 2′s Tom Jones.

He said the gunfire sounded so close it set off his alarm.

“It was one and then it was about six or seven or eight. Kind of rapid behind it, ‘Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop,’” he described.

Green, a music minister and independent R&B artist, known professionally as D’Maestro, says he went downstairs and noticed a bullet entered his home.

“This is where I relax,” he said, showing the spot where he sits on his couch and watches his favorite shows.

He showed where the bullet traveled by that same spot.

“Came through the window right here. Came straight across (and) that’s where it hit this pillow,” he said, describing the couch cushion the bullet went through.

It then traveled through a wall, almost hitting his water heater. Green is grateful he wasn’t sitting in his usual spot.

“I’m grateful man that you’re here talking to me instead of talking to somebody about me,” Green said.

Green says he doesn’t have any enemies. He believes the shots started earlier and his camera only began recording after a bullet hit the window.

He says the bullet came through the woods in his backyard and since it was dark, the shooter couldn’t have been targeting his house and may not even see his home.

“It just seems random,” he said.

“This is what love feels like. This is what love feels like,” Green sang from the spot near where the bullet came through his window.

D’Maestro also shoots a podcast close to the window.

Green says the police came out and took a report. He says what stunned him was that although they did their jobs well, they seemed unbothered by it all, like nothing out of the ordinary.

He says it’s not ordinary and routine when a bullet enters your home and puts your life in danger.

It’s why he’s urging people to be more responsible with their weapons and stop the random shooting.
