CHAMBLEE, Ga. — A realtor died in a crash after police say an underage drunk driver ran a red light going 100 mph in Chamblee.

The crash happened Sunday around 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Buford Highway and Chamblee-Tucker Road.

Police said 20-year-old Christian Fernando Irias-Ruiz ran the red light and T-boned another car, killing the driver. Family and friends have identified the victim as 37-year-old Jimmy Chang.

“It’s devastating for all the family right now, still can’t process that he’s gone,” Jimmy’s brother, Jason Chang told Channel 2′s Eryn Rogers. “He impacted a lot of lives.”

Irias-Ruiz and two of his passengers were hurt in the crash. The driver of a third car at the intersection also had minor injuries.

Irias-Ruiz faces multiple charges including homicide by vehicle in the first degree, DUI, reckless driving, speeding and possession of alcohol by someone under 21.

Police said the 20-year-old was also driving with no insurance, no license, and a suspended registration.

“It’s not going to bring my brother back, but hopefully justice will be served,” Jason Chang said. “We’re kind of at a loss of what to do now.”
