Verizon reports progress in addressing voice service issue

Verizon customers in some parts of the nation are being impacted by a partial outage, the company confirmed Saturday afternoon.

In an updated statement released to Channel 2 Action News after 6 p.m., a spokesperson for the carrier said engineers are making progress on the issue affecting voice services for some customers.

“If your service is still impacted, we recommend restarting your device. We know how much people rely on Verizon and apologize for any inconvenience some of our customers experienced today. Our team is continuing to work non-stop until this issue is fully resolved. Please visit ourCheck Network Status pagefor updates on service in your area,” the spokesperson said.

According to Downdetector, customers of other carriers, including AT&T and T-Mobile, are also experiencing difficulties.

There were no verification of an outage from the other carriers’ customer support team.
